Free Monitor Manager offers a handy means of adjusting your monitor’s brightness, contrast, and red, green, blue levels. Simply launch the application and use the sliders to make the adjustments you want to. If you have to frequently adjust your monitor’s settings, you could save your changes as a profile and easily switch between profiles, either from the application’s UI or by left clicking the Free Monitor Manager icon in the system tray. Alternatively, you could set up a hotkey that changes the monitor’s settings or activates a certain profile. Furthermore, you can even set it up so that a certain profile is activated when you launch a specific application.

Free Monitor Manager is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1, and Windows 10. Download the Free Monitor Manager setup wizard, run it, accept the License Agreement, and the installation will complete in a blink. Unfortunately, you’re not given the option to choose where Free Monitor Manager will be installed.

Free Monitor Manager displays the following items on its interface (starting from top to bottom): a dropdown menu that lets you select a certain profile; a dropdown menu that lets you choose a certain monitor; sliders so you can adjust the brightness, contrast, and red, green, blue levels; a cog-like icon that takes you to the Settings menu; a question mark icon that opens the About menu.

The aforementioned Settings menu is home to several useful features: change the interface language; set it so that Free Monitor Manager automatically runs at startup; enable the option to switch profiles by left clicking the tray icon; enable global hotkeys so that you can adjust the brightness or activate a profile with a hotkey; enable a feature that automatically adjusts the brightness or activates a profile when a certain application launches.

Although this application has the word "free" in its name, it’s not exactly free. The base functionality is free, but certain features aren’t: the option to switch profiles by left clicking the system tray, global hotkeys, and the option to perform an action when a certain application launches. These features are available for free, for a trial period of 7 days. When that trial period expires, you will have to purchase a license to keep using them. At the time of writing this, a personal license that includes 1 year of free updates is priced at $12.

Free Monitor Manager offers a simple and efficient means of adjusting your monitor’s brightness, contrast, or red, green, blue levels. Although the application itself is free, its best features are available to paying customers only.

Pros

Free Monitor Manager is compatible with any Windows edition from Vista to Windows 10. The interface couldn’t be any simpler. You can save multiple profiles and easily switch between them. You can perform various actions with a hotkey. You can set it up so that a specific profile is activated when a certain application launches. Free Monitor Manager’s base features are free.

Cons

The setup wizard doesn’t let you choose where Free Monitor Manager will be installed. The following features are available for a trial period of 7 days: the option to switch profiles by left clicking the system tray, global hotkeys, and the option to perform an action when a certain application launches. You’ll have to purchase a license to keep using these features once the trial expires.
